MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --- It was a highly successful qualifying day of the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Ohio Valley Regional Championship for the Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team on Wednesday afternoon in Murfreesboro.

 

All UTC student-athletes have earned spots in the main draw which include a late qualification from Wilma Bergqvist and Jada Young, who both picked up hard-fought wins to secure their spots.

 

"It's great have all my players into the main draw. Wilma and Jada won some tough matches and I am really proud of their fight today," said head coach Chad Camper.

 

Bergqvist and Young rallied for their respective crucial victories. Bergqvist downed Memphis's Miriam Grosmann (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) and Young defeated Xavier's Natalie Moyer (4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (3)) to earn advancement into the main singles draw.
