The Chattanooga Mocs host The Citadel in a pivotal regular season finale at Finley Stadium Saturday.

PREVIEW | TUESDAY PRESSER | GAME WEEK PRIMER | GAME NOTES | TICKETS | CLEAR BAG POLICY

CHATTANOOGA---The end is near. The end of the regular season at any rate. The Chattanooga Mocs have a lot of football left in them. However, Senior Day is here on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The Mocs welcome The Citadel Bulldogs to town. Fittingly, it's also Military Appreciation Day. Active and veteran military get a free general admission ticket by showing their military ID or credentials. There are also $5 general admission tickets for their family that can be purchased when picking up the free ticket.

The league's top rushing attack meets the league's top rushing defense. That's 262.1 yards per contest testing a 101.5-yard allowance. The Mocs are looking to complete the rare quadruple feat (as long as we're talking defense).

This group leads the Southern Conference in total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense & passing defense. It's an amazing effort with a streak on the line no less. The unit has gone a school-record four games allowing 200 yards or less to opponents with just 650 yards allowed over the last four weeks (162.5/game). +1,017 yards difference in total offense over last four weeks (1,667-650) or 254.3 yards per game.

Bonus 3 Notes to Know
  • Averaging 29.9 points per SoCon game with 418.9 yards of total offense: 224.0 rush/194.9.
  • Allowing 15.1 ppg in SoCon play giving up just 250.6 yards per game (105.6 rush/144.7 pass).
  • Allowed just one offensive TD in 13 quarters dating back to 3:40 in the third at Samford, a span of 198:40.

The offense topped the 2,000 mark (2,034) in rushing yards last weekend. That's just the 7th over last 30 years: 3145 (2015), 2951 (2014), 2682 (2016), 2549 (2013), 2372 (2019) & 2268 (2005). It's happened in both of Coach Rusty Wright's full seasons.

Seven is a key number. A win provides seven on the season which would be the seventh time in the last 38 seasons with seven or more.
