CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga men's cross country team will run Friday afternoon at the Golden Eagle Invitational at the Putnam County Sports Complex in Cookeville.

"The men are looking forward to competing again this spring," Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said.  "Since the Belmont Meet, we have been able to get some tough workouts in and consistent mileage.  We are looking for a step up in our racing fitness at this meet."

This is the Mocs' second meet this spring after running twice in the fall, including the Southern Conference championships.

"These spring meets have been wonderful in getting some more race experience in our legs since the fall season was so short," Meyer said. "We have not run this particular course, but it is supposed to be rolling and fast.  The temps will be a little cool with a chance for some flurries in Crossville which all combined with the course will help us build a bit more character."

The men's 8-kilometer race with Austin Peay, Jacksonville State, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri, St. Louis, UT Martin and host Tennessee Tech, will begin at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time. Results will be posted on GoMocs.com following the race.
