The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team faces the Southern Conference leaders in Furman and ETSU this week.  The Mocs host the Paladins on Thursday, April 1, and travel to ETSU on Saturday, April 3.

Match time against the Paladins is set for 2:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) at the UTC Tennis Center.  First serve on Saturday is 1:00 p.m. in Johnson City, Tenn.  Links for live scoring are available on the women's tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.

The Mocs are 8-5 overall and 1-1 in SoCon action, following a 5-2 loss at Wofford last weekend.  Both ETSU and Furman are atop the league standings with 3-0 marks in SoCon play.  The Paladins are 15-6 overall and No. 35 in the most recent ITA Team Rankings, while the Bucs have a 9-8 overall record.

"This season had been full of ups and downs but this team has put their head down and worked hard this week to continue to improve," stated head coach Chad Camper.  "Playing the top teams in the conference will sharpen the team in many places."

Furman has two individuals ranked by the ITA in singles play.  Katarina Kozarov is No. 9 in the nation and Julia Adams is No. 104.  Together they are ranked No. 22 in doubles in the nation.

UTC junior Emma Van Hee still leads the team with a 16-5 doubles record and an 11-2 mark at No. 2 in the spring.  Junior Bogdana Zaporozhets and freshman Jessie Young lead the way in doubles with a 14-7 overall record and a 7-4 mark at No. 2.

The Mocs are 11-39 all-time against Furman, including a 5-19 record at home.  The Mocs won a dual in 2015, their only win in the series since 1997.  The Mocs are trying to snap a current seven-match skid against the Paladins.

Chattanooga is 28-9 all-time against ETSU, but only has two wins in the last eight meetings.  UTC is 12-5 on the road in the series with the last win coming in 2015.
