- The Chattanooga Mocs rolled to an 85-67 triumph against The Citadel …Mocs are now 13-3, 3-0 in the league…the Bulldogs move to 6-7, 0-2 in the SoCon.
- Chattanooga sits atop the Southern Conference standings followed by Furman (3-1), VMI (2-2), Mercer (1-1), UNCG (1-1) & Western Carolina (1-1) rounding out the top six.
- Fourth straight win, all by eight or more points: MTSU (77-65), ETSU (82-52), at Wofford (75-67) & today (85-67)…average margin of victory during the streak is 17.0.
- Eight-point game (57-49) with 11:06 to play…out-scored the Bulldogs 25-13 over the next 9:36 to pull away with the win.
- 22-2 advantage in points off turnovers…+8 in turnover margin forcing 18 while giving up 10…the Bulldogs two points came on free throws with 15:20 to go in the first half.
- 35 of 70 shooting (50.0%)…seventh time making 30 or more FG this season…most since 2018-19 (7 over 32 games).
- 10 3pt made today, 22 for the week…back-to-back with double-digit makes for the first time since last February doing it in three straight: Western Carolina (12), at UNC Greensboro (11) and at Mercer (12)…22-52 during this stretch, 42.3 percent.
- The Citadel's 11 3pt made ties the season high by an opponent…Murray State also made 11…40.7 percent (11-27) is the best by an opponent in 2021-22…first win when the opposition makes 10 or more while shooting 40 percent since the 67-65 buzzer-beating win at ETSU last February…Bucs went 12-23 (52.2%) to keep within shouting distance by the end of the contest including their first lead with 11+ seconds to go…A.J. Caldwell ended it with a three in front his own bench to walk it off.

INDIVIDUAL
- 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for Silvio De Sousa…added three blocks…third multi-block game in a row and eighth of the campaign...combined 28 points and 27 boards in 44 minutes of his last two appearances…four double-doubles.
- 27 points for Malachi Smith…sixth time with 27 or more this year, first at home…added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- Smith has scored in double figures in 10 straight averaging 25.0 points per game over that span shooting 91-149 overall (61.1%), 24-53 from three (45.3%) and 44-53 at the free throw line (83.0%).
- Smith's 10th 20pt effort of the season…most since 13 by Z. Mason in 2013-14…DI era record is 22 for a season by Gerald Wilkins in 1984-85.
