CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team aims to rebound from Sunday's overtime loss with its final non-conference matchup of the season when the squad travels to SEC-foe Georgia on Wednesday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. ET on SEC Network+.
Chattanooga (8-4) saw its six-game winning streak come to a halt in an 83-79 overtime loss at home to Belmont on Sunday. The Mocs were forced into 19 turnovers and shot a lowly 54.5% (12-of-22) mark from the free-throw line during the loss.
Jake Stephens put on a historic performance on Sunday against the Bruins, scoring 32 points while adding 20 rebounds, five assists and five blocked shots in the effort. It marked the first ever 30-point, 20-rebound performance on record at UTC.
Stephens was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for the fourth-straight week following the historic stat line and has now captured the award five times in the season's first six weeks. He joins former Davidson legend and current NBA superstar Stephen Curry as the only two in SoCon history to win the award four-straight weeks and 10-plus times in a career.
For the season, Stephens joins Purdue's Zach Edey as the only players in NCAA Division I averaging more than 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. His season scoring average sits at 22.5 points per game while his rebound average is 10.5 per game. Stephens is currently the only player in NCAA DI averaging 20+ points, 10+ rebounds and 2.5+ blocks per game.

STEPHENS HISTORIC PERFORMANCE
Jake Stephens put on a historic performance in Sunday's OT loss to Belmont. Stephens finished with 32 points and 20 rebounds to become the first Moc on record to ever post a 30-point, 20-rebound effort. He also added five assists, five blocks and three steals in the contest.
