CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs earned two more first team All-America honors with the Thursday release of the American Football Coaches of America (AFCA) All-America teams. Senior offensive lineman
McClendon Curtis and junior edge
Jay Person got their fourth and third first team awards, respectively.

"The AFCA team is obviously special to our staff," Coach Rusty Wright shared. "McClendon and Jay both had strong seasons and are very deserving. I'm proud to see them honored on the coaches' All-America team."

The accomplishments have been well stated for both through the postseason. This is the fifth All-America release in the FCS calendar. The Mocs have 18 mentions including seven different student-athletes. Previous stories include

It's the first time since 2016 that two Mocs took their place on the AFCA first team with a similar feel. That season saw a dominant offensive lineman Corey Levin joined by defensive end Keionta Davis. It's the fourth time in school history overall.
