Men’s Basketball Hosts Red-Hot Milwaukee in Tuesday Night Showdown

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball team hosts a streaking Milwaukee team in its annual “Teddy Bear Toss” game benefiting the Chattanooga Forgotten Child Fund.

CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team looks to make it four in-a-row when it hosts a red-hot Milwaukee squad, winners of their last five, on Tuesday evening inside McKenzie Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+ with the annual "Teddy Bear Toss" festivities commencing at halftime.
 
Chattanooga (5-3) earned its third-straight win with an 82-71 victory on the road at Gardner-Webb on Saturday in the two teams second overall meeting. UTC erased yet another halftime deficit with a strong defensive effort in the final half, holding GWU to lowly FG% (27.3%) and 3PT FG% (18.2%) marks during the span. UTC has trailed at the break in all three wins during the current streak.
 
Jake Stephens dazzled with another incredible performance, scoring 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting (3-of-6 3PT) while grabbing a game-high nine rebounds and blocking a game-best five shots. Dalvin White (12) and Jamaal Walker (10) each reached double figures in scoring to aid the victors. UTC knocked down 12 threes in the win with the current 11.9 3PT per game average this season ranking second in NCAA DI.
 
Milwaukee (7-3) comes to the Scenic City for the first time since 1991 as the Panthers hold a current five-game win streak, most recently defeating IUPUI 74-61 on Saturday. In addition to the Jaguars, Milwaukee has earned wins over Green Bay, SEMO, Boston and UC Davis during the current winning streak.

OPENING NOTES - LAST TIME OUT
Chattanooga (5-3) claimed its first winning streak of the season after earning their third-straight win behind an 82-71 victory at Gardner-Webb on Saturday. The Mocs erased another halftime deficit, marking the third-straight game (all wins) trailing at halftime. The defense was dominate in the second half again after allowing just a 27.3% (9-of-33) field-goal percentage including a 18.2% (2-of-11) mark from deep.
 
STEPHENS NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK... AGAIN
Graduate transfer Jake Stephens was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Monday, his third POTW honor of the season and eighth in his career. Stephens averaged 26.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists & 3.5 blocks.

Over the last four games, Chattanooga and its opponents have combined for 50 lead changes and 28 ties over the 160 minutes of action. UTC and Lipscomb featured 11 lead changes and 10 ties  with both teams leading the contest for 16-plus each. In the 69-66 win over Murray State, the Mocs and Racers played to 14 lead changes and five ties. Last Wednesday, UTC and TTU saw eight lead changes and six ties while Saturday's game at Gardner-Webb featured 17 & 7.

Normal business hours for the box office are Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Box Offices located at Gates 2 and 3 will open on game day 90 minutes prior to tip-off for on-site sales. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid lines on the day of game. Fans are also encouraged to choose Print-at-Home or Mobile Delivery for their purchased tickets.
