CHATTANOOGA – The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team returns to action this weekend with a Saturday doubleheader in Martin, Tennessee, as the squad will face Missouri State and the hosts UT Martin in non-conference action at the Skyhawk Tennis Complex.
Due to forecasted rain on Sunday, the original schedule has been altered with UTC facing Missouri State at 10 a.m. ET and then UT Martin at 3 p.m. ET.
Chattanooga enters the weekend with an even 5-5 record after suffering a tight 4-3 loss to WKU most recently last Sunday afternoon. The Mocs have dropped four of its last five matches after starting the year with a 4-1 mark. UTC will have three non-conference matchups before starting a four-match Southern Conference stretch starting on March 19 against Wofford at home.
UT Martin will be playing at home for the first time this season when the team's take the courts on Saturday. The Skyhawks are 0-8 this season despite battling in numerous close matches. UTM last suffered a 4-2 defeat to Chicago State in a neutral matchup in Saint Louis, Mo., last Saturday.
Missouri State is also in search of its first victory this spring season as they head into the weekend with an 0-7 tally. The Bears have been close to picking up its first win numerous times as they team fell by a 4-3 fashion in three of its last five matches.
