CHATTANOOGA --- Another week, another transfer signee for the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team. USC Upstate guard Dalvin White has officially inked his commitment to head coach
Dan Earl and the Mocs, the program announced on Wednesday.
White received his degree from USC Upstate last weekend and will designate as a graduate student at Chattanooga. He will be immediately eligible for the 2022-23 season.
"Dalvin brings a wealth of college experience having played in over 100 games. He has a great feel, will make his teammates better and is a very good 3-point shooter," said head coach Earl.
"Most importantly, his leadership skills will help to impact winning. We are very pleased that Dalvin is joining our Chattanooga basketball family".
During the 2021-22 season, the 5-10 guard played in 31 games while making 23 starts, averaging 8.7 points, 3.9 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 41.1% from the floor. He posted 12 double-digit scoring games including a career-high 30 points on 9-of-12 shooting against Winthrop on January 26.
He led the team in assists (121), was second in free throw percentage (86.0%) and sat third in minutes per game (25.8) for the Spartans last season. White committed the fewest turnovers (46) of anyone who averaged more than 22 minutes per game, ranking 20
th in NCAA Division I in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.63).
The Norcross High School product out of Norcross, Ga., appeared in 115 career games over four seasons after seeing a career-high 32 games played during his freshman season in 2018-19. For his career, White has totaled 818 career points while averaging 7.1 points, 3.4 assists, 1.9 rebounds per contest.
