Dan Earl on each of the signings below.
Isaiah Otyaluk – 6'7 – 175lbs – Guard/Forward – Cary, N.C. (Word of God Christian Academy)
AAU/Club Program: No Guts No Glory Basketball (NC)
Isaiah Otyaluk will bring a versatile skill set to the 2024-25 roster as the 6'7 G/F can play and defend multiple positions through high-level athleticism and length. Otyaluk is off to a hot start during the 2023 scholastic campaign at Word of God Christian Academy, recently dropping 45 points on the help of a 10-of-13 performance from three in the team's second game of the season.
According to Hoopseen.com, Otyaluk ranks as the No. 19 overall prospect in North Carolina and No. 5 at his position within the state's loaded class of 2024. An intriguing and flashy prospect, there's a lot to be excited about says coach Earl.
Dan Earl on Otyaluk: "We are thrilled that Isaiah will be joining our program. He is a versatile player with tremendous upside. He is extremely athletic, has the ability to shoot from a distance, and can guard multiple positions. He is a great fit on and off the court. We look forward to having him on campus soon."
Latif Diouf – 6'9 – 240lbs – Forward – Gouda, Netherlands (Dunn School – Calif.)
AAU/Club Program: Oakland Soldiers 17u (NIKE EYBL 2022/23)
A native of Gouda, Netherlands, Latif Diouf is a strong and athletic 6'9 SF/PF who has performed exceptionally well at various stops in the prospective ranks including for the Oakland soldiers 17U of the Nike EYBL. He's also a member of the Netherlands 18U National Team in addition to his standing at Dunn High School (Calif.).
Diouf recorded a 52-point game last season for Dunn HS during an 81-76 (OT) victory over Foothill Tech and finished averaging close to 21 points and 12 rebounds per game. He was named the league's MVP and earned all-league first team honors. Diouf's commitment to UTC came hours before the team's win at Louisville on Friday.
Dan Earl on Diouf: "We are excited that Latif will be joining the Mocs program. Latif is a unique basketball player in that he is a talented playmaker at his size. This allows him to make plays for himself or for others. He can play multiple positions, is extremely versatile, and has a high basketball IQ. The UTC Family will enjoy watching him for the next four years."
