CHATTANOOGA (Dec. 2, 2023) --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team will look to rebound from Wednesday's defeat when it travels north for a Sunday afternoon non-conference showdown at Morehead State inside Johnson Arena in Morehead, Ky. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Chattanooga (5-2) suffered its second loss of the season, and first on the road, on Wednesday afternoon at ASUN-member Lipscomb behind an 82-68 final tally. A cold-shooting start in the early going eventually created an insurmountable disadvantage, which ultimately led to the widest non-conference defeat for UTC since an 89-53 loss at Florida State on November 20, 2019.
Honor Huff posted his sixth-straight game with 16 or more points on Wednesday, finishing with a team-high 16 points with four made threes, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in the process. True freshman
Sean Cusano registered his first career points at the collegiate level, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting including a 2-of-3 mark from deep, adding in three rebounds and a block in 17 minutes of floor time.
Morehead State (5-3) enters the game Sunday winners of its last three and four of its last five after most recently earning a 61-50 road win at Austin Peay on Wednesday night. All three of the Eagles losses have come to Power 5 opponents including then No. 24/24 Alabama, then No. 2/3 Purdue and Penn State. MSU was the consensus preseason OVC favorite, collecting all but two first-place votes.
Full game preview including coverage links, notes, and more can be found below. The game is part of a women's/men's doubleheader as the Morehead State women's team hosts ETSU at 2 p.m. ET before the men's matchup. Start time is subject to change.
