CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team aims to win its fourth-straight game when the team hosts second-place UNCG in a crucial Southern Conference matchup inside McKenzie Arena Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. ET and will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
Chattanooga (15-13, 7-8 SoCon) earned its third-straight victory with a dominating 78-58 decision on the road at VMI on Wednesday night in head coach Dan Earl's (and company) return to Lexington. Earl spent the previous seven seasons with the Keydets before accepting the UTC job in March of 2022.
It was a total team effort in Wednesday's win with 11 of the 12 players who saw minutes finding the scoresheet. Chattanooga tied its own NCAA Division I record, which was set earlier this season against Covenant, with 10 different players recording at least one 3PT field goal.
The Mocs held a commanding 47-14 halftime lead inside Cameron Hall on Wednesday before rolling to the 20-point victory. The 14 points allowed at the break were the fewest against a DI opponent since 2017 while the 33-point margin was the greatest in SoCon play since a 38-point lead at Furman in 1997.
UNCG (18-10, 12-3 SoCon) is coming off a tough 83-71 loss at Samford on Wednesday in a matchup of the league's top two teams at the time. The Spartans saw a double-digit, second-half lead evaporate during the loss which snapped a four-game win streak.

LAST TIME OUT
Chattanooga (15-13, 7-8 SoCon) notched its third-straight win with a 78-58 triumph at VMI on Wednesday night. The win propelled the team into sole possession of fifth place in the league standings. 11 different players scored in the win with 10 different players connecting on at least one 3PT, tying the program's own NCAA DI record which was set earlier this season.
NCAA RECORD SET... AGAIN
Chattanooga tied its own NCAA Division I record with 10 different players connecting on at least one 3PT during Wednesday's win at VMI. The Mocs have now accomplished the feat twice after setting the benchmark in a win over Covenant back in November.
TOTAL TEAM EFFORT
Chattanooga played 12 different guys during Wednesday's win at VMI with 11 players finding the scoresheet. Adding to that, the Mocs featured 10 different scorers before the 7:50 mark of the opening half.
LET THE THREE FLY
Chattanooga fired off 41 three-point attempts in Wednesday's win at VMI which marked the most for the team this season. The 41 attempts were the most since a program-record 44 attempts at Georgia State on Dec. 12, 2018. UTC ranks second in NCAA DI with 30.4 3PT attempts per game.
ONE MORE WIN WOULD...
Sitting at 15-13 overall this season, Chattanooga needs just one more win for head coach Dan Earl to tie his career-high for wins in a season. Earl led SoCon foe VMI to a 16-16 record in 2021-22 before arriving to the Scenic City.
