CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- It took just less than two extra innings for the Chattanooga softball team to beat Tennessee State 3-2 Wednesday evening at Warner Park.
With one out in the bottom of the ninth and
Kaili Phillips on second,
Jayce Purdy popped the ball up behind first base. It landed just fair in the grass of shallow right field and Phillips advanced to third. She rounded the bag, prompting TSU to throw to home. It was wide and Phillips raced to the plate for the game winning run.
