Six Softball Players Named All-Conference

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The Chattanooga softball team earned six Southern Conference postseason nods, the league office announced Tuesday.
 
Outfielder Addy Keylon was named to the league's all-conference First Team. Fellow outfielder Olivia Lipari and infielder Kaili Phillips earned a spot on the Second Team. Peja Goold, Riley Kokinda and Zoe Wright were named to the All-Freshman Team.
 
Keylon is second on the team with a .300 batting average. She has started 47 of the Mocs games with 33 hits and a team-best nine home runs. She is 7-of-9 for stolen bases and has three sac flies and five sacrifice hits.
 
Phillips leads the Mocs with a .339 batting average and a team-best nine home runs. She has 29 RBI, slugged .678 on the year and has a .484 on-base percentage. Phillips is 14th in the NCAA for hit-by-pitch and holds the Chattanooga single season (18) and career (32) record and is the team leader for walks with 23. Phillips is a two-time SoCon Player of the Week and was selected Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
 
Olivia Lipari has started every game in her two years with the Mocs. She is third on the team with a .275 batting average, has eight doubles and a triple. She has a team-high 23 walks and has a .381 on-base percentage.
 
Peja Goold leads Chattanooga with a 2.65 ERA, is 8-8 on the year and has made 11 starts with 21 appearances. She threw three complete games, pitched a team-high 87.1 innings with 82 strikeouts. Goold was the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week on March 13 and struck out a season-high 12 batters against Lafayette the previous week.
 
Riley Kokinda has a .261 batting average and appeared in 36 games with 27 starts in the outfield. She is 5-of-6 for stolen bases, has 11 walks and a .354 on-base percentage.
 
Zoe Wright is batting .241 and moved into the starting rotation at shortstop, making 30 starts in 34 games. She is 3-for-3 on stolen bases  with 21 hits and four RBI on the year. She has 35 putouts and 46 assists and turned two double plays.
 
This is the fifth time since 2009, the start of the all-freshman team, that UTC has had three selections.
 
Chattanooga will open the Southern Conference Tournament Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. against Furman. The Mocs swept Furman in Greenville, S.C., in the regular season.
