CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Let Rivalry Week begin!
 
The Chattanooga Mocs softball team is set to host the annual Blue-Gold Series this week at Frost Stadium. The Mocs are split into the Blue Team and the Gold Team and will play for bragging rights the rest of the season.
 
The three-game series begins Wednesday and runs through Friday with a 5:00 p.m. start each night.
 
"We started Blue-Gold several years ago," Mocs head coach Frank Reed said. "I love the fact that this gives us the opportunity for the entire team to go out onto the field and play for a championship.
 
"The Blue Team has won the last three years. This creates a rivalry and builds a chemistry that lasts all year."
 
The series has had many iterations including a seven-game series to mimic the MLB World Series.
 
Admission is free each night and a picnic will be provided following the Friday night game.
 
Teams to be announced Tuesday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m.
