CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs wrestling squad is closing in fast on the start of the 2024-25 season. The first look for this year's squad is Saturday with the annual Blue-Gold matches in Maclellan Gym.

The estimated 12 bouts start at Noon with the competition expected to be fierce.

"Almost half of our team is new," Coach Kyle Ruschell began. "We have 12 new guys on our roster and so just putting names and faces together along with seeing what these guys have done over the summer. They look great with the work done with strength coach Ashton McLeod.

"Our staff's done a good job with them so they look the part, and now it's a matter of just going out there and wrestling hard. We don't talk about results, we talk about effort and in a day like the blue-gold, that's especially true.

"We want to see high effort levels, offense trying to score points and all the hard things that make good wrestlers."
