GAME NOTES
CHATTANOOGA'S UPSET BID AT INDIANA FALLS JUST SHORT

- Chattanooga (8-5) capped off its non-conference slate against (RV) Indiana inside the famed Assembly Hall last Saturday, ultimately falling 74-65 in a tightly-contested battle. Despite the loss, the Mocs led for the majority of the first half and held the Hoosiers scoreless for a seven-plus minute stretch late in the second half during its near upset bid.

MERCER SEASON OVERVIEW
- Mercer (7-6, 0-0 SoCon) is coming off an intense and entertaining 71-68 victory at in-state rival Georgia State in its non-conference finale on Saturday. The Bears have showcased one of the most prolific offenses in NCAA DI hoops this season under head coach Ryan Ridder who is in his first season in Macon. Mercer's 83.6 PPG average ranks 41st in DI while its 16.7 fastbreak PPG average ranks 13th.

SERIES HISTORY
- Mercer & UTC will meet for the 89th time in the historic all-time series which originated with a 28-21 UTC win on February 12, 1921. The 104 year-old series has leaned the Mocs way, 47-41 in total, with the Bears earning a 27-18 edge in games played in Macon, Ga. UTC is 13-7 against Mercer in SoCon regular season matchups.

SOCON OPENER HISTORY NOT TOO KIND
- Chattanooga opens its 48th season of Southern Conference action at Mercer on Wednesday. UTC is 25-22 in the previous 47 SoCon openers and has played to a 10-15 record on the road. The Mocs have dropped its last four true SoCon openers on the road with the last win coming at Western Carolina on December 31, 2016.

MORE OF THE SAME, YOUR HONOR
- Honor Huff has seemed to find his shooting groove from behind the arc over the past three games, knocking down six 3PT FG's in each of the three contests while posting 24, 20 and 20 points. Huff is a combined 18-33 (54.5%) from three during the span and now ranks 37th in NCAA DI hoops this season with 38 total 3PTM and 12th in total 3PT attempts with 108.

THREE-POINT DEFENSE STRONG DESPITE RARE OUTCOME
- Chattanooga held Indiana to a lowly 25.0% (5-20) from 3PT last Saturday which marked the third time this season holding an opponent to just five made 3PT FG's. UTC entered the contest 23-2 under coach Dan Earl when holding its opponent to 30.0% or less from deep before suffering the third loss in 26 such occurrences.
