Tip-off is set for 4:02 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Chattanooga (16-8, 8-3 SoCon) aims for its sixth-straight league road win which would tie a program record following Thursday night's 88-84 victory at VMI in Lexington. MOCS EARN FIFTH-STRAIGHT ROAD SOCON WIN
- Chattanooga (16-8, 8-3 SoCon) earned its fifth-straight Southern Conference road victory following an 88-84 victory at VMI on Thursday night in Cameron Hall in Lexington, Va. The Mocs stopped a late Keydets rally that saw the hosts take an 80-77 lead with under two minutes to play before
Honor Huff (2) and
Jan Zidek knocked down three-straight triples to help survive the scare. Huff (22) led all UTC scorers in the win. Bonham dished out a career-high 11 assists, the most helpers by a Moc since 2017.
CHATTANOOGA/UNCG HISTORY
- Chattanooga & UNCG will meet for the 56th time in the all-time series with the Spartans leading the overall record with a slight 28-27 advantage. The meeting on Saturday will be the 48th all-time SoCon regular season matchup. The Spartans claimed a 70-54 victory over the Mocs inside McKenzie Arena earlier this season on January 13.
WINNING WITH DIFFERENCE
- Chattanooga is one of 21 NCAA DI teams this season that has featured eight or more different starting lineup combos. Of the eight different lineups, UTC has posted victories with seven of them which currently makes the squad one of just seven NCAA DI programs that have won with seven or more different starting lineups this year.
ROAD WARRIORS CONTINUE STREAK
- UTC's 88-84 victory at VMI marked its fifth-straight SoCon road victory dating back to wins at Mercer (1/17), at ETSU (1/21), at Wofford (1/24) & at WCU (1/31). The five-straight league W's on the road ties the second-longest such streak in program history. Last W4 (7x): 2020-21, 2015-16, 2013-14, 2003-04, 1996-97, 1985-96 & 1981-82. Last W5 (2x): 1984-85 & 1982-83. Last W6 (3x): 1992-93, 1991-92 & 1986-87.
FORMER KEYDETS AGAINST FORMER PROGRAM
- It's no secret that Chattanooga has an abundance of VMI flare within its program, starting with second-year HC
Dan Earl who spent seven years in Lexington. Earl is now 5-0 against his former program so far with a +19.8 (90.4-70.6) MOV. In four games featuring former Keydets
Jake Stephens (2GP),
Trey Bonham (2GP) &
Honor Huff (2GP), the trio has combined to average 30.0ppg, 10.5rpg & 5.3apg while shooting 52.5% (42-80) from the field including 50.0% (17-34) from three-point land.
