Garrett Engle and the Chattanooga Mocs tackle an 18-team field at the Tiger Collegiate Invitational starting Monday.

COLUMBIA, Mo.---The Chattanooga Mocs open play Monday at the Tiger Collegiate Invitational Monday at the Club at Old Hawthorne. The 2-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Missouri and starts with a 36-hole day before a final 18 on Tuesday.
The Mocs take six this week with Southern Golfer of the Week, Golfer of the Month and all-around good guy John Houk joined by Garrett Engle, Samuel Espinosa, Paul Conroy and Ward Harris. Braedon Wear is playing as an individual.
Chattanooga, ranked No. 36 in the latest NCAA ratings, is the top ranked school in the field, one better that the host Tigers. It's still a solid group and a big opportunity with just two regular season events to go.
"We've got a great opportunity in Missouri this week," Coach Blaine Woodruff shared. "It's been nice to have a little bit of a break between tournaments to refresh physically and mentally. It's given us a chance to work on some things as a group here at home. The guys are hungry to compete and start this final stretch of the season."
The Mocs have 17 par or better scores in 23 rounds so far. The school record of 20 (39) was set last year. Houk leads with 17. He & Conroy own the single-season mark of 23 also set in 2022-23.
Play begins with a shotgun start Monday morning at 9 a.m., Eastern time. The field convenes Tuesday at the same with the same starting plan to crown champions.

- Houk's 70.30 scoring average has a 0.84 advantage on the school record 71.14 set by 2024 Texas Children's Hospital Houston Open Champion Stephan Jaeger in 2011-12.
