BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (September 29, 2024) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis program kicked off fall action with an impressive showing at the Samford Invitational II this weekend at the Samford Tennis Center in Birmingham, Ala.
 
During the three-day event, Chattanooga totaled 13 victories between singles and doubles action with five of the victories coming on the final day. The Mocs competed against the likes of SoCon foes Samford and Mercer, in addition to in-state opponent Lipscomb.
 
Junior Carter Ramthun contributed to the total victory count with a pair of singles wins as he was the only Moc to record multiple victories in the solo format. Ramthun joined forces with redshirt freshman Carson Gompert to notch a doubles win over Samford reps on Saturday.
 
Gompert earned two doubles wins over the weekend after also capturing a win alongside senior Ryan Mudre on Sunday, defeating Lipscomb's duo by a 7-5 count. Mudre also posted a doubles win with Jaxon Lamb, a 6-1 decision over Samford's pair on Saturday.
