CHATTANOOGA---The 10th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs head to Atlanta Saturday for week 2. This weekend's matchup is against Georgia State at Center Parc Stadium (formerly Turner Field).
Â
It's the first time since 1988 opening the season with two FBS opponents. That year, the Mocs dropped a 33-19 decision at Tulane before heading to Atlanta for another hard-fought loss, 24-10 at Georgia Tech.
Â
That was then and this is now. Both teams look to recover from 0-1 starts (GSU lost 35-12 at Tech) and get back to the positive vibes. For the Mocs, it's also a homecoming for a good chunk of the roster.
Â
There are double digits from the metro Atlanta. Almost a quarter of the squad comes from Georgia as well as nearly 20 on the squad 2 deep. It's home away from home for the program.
Â
Today's press conference was led off by Head Coach
Rusty Wright. He was followed by defensive back
Reuben Lowery III and wide receiver Sam Phillps. Due to technical issues, Phillips video is unavailable.
