Women’s Tennis Opens Season at UNC Asheville on Sunday, Hosts Lee University on Monday

The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team will compete on back-to-back days to begin the 2025 campaign.

CHATTANOOGA (January 18, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team is set to open the 2025 spring season with a pair of matches in consecutive days beginning with a Sunday tilt at UNC Asheville before concluding with a Monday home match against Lee University.
 
Monday's home opener is slated for a 2 p.m. start and will be held at the Strang-Voges Tennis Center on the campus of the McCallie School in Chattanooga. The facility can be located through GPS directions at 500 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, TN.

Chattanooga looks to rebound from a tough 2024 season and will look to the veteran leadership from seniors Rozalie Dohnalova and Alice Hall to anchor the team's success. Dohnalova and Hall joined forces together at the No. 1 doubles position last season and ended with a 14-6 record including a 4-3 mark in SoCon play. UTC welcomes
 
Scouting UNC Asheville
UNC Asheville is coming an extremely strong 2024 campaign that saw the program finish with a 16-4 overall record including a perfect 5-0 mark in Big South regular season action. The Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Tournament after claiming the Big South Tournament title behind a 4-3 victory over No. 2 seed Charleston Southern. UNCA defeated UTC 4-3 in the last matchup back on February 10, 2024.
 
Scouting Lee University
Lee, an NCAA Division II member of the Gulf South Conference (GSC), finished the 2024 season with a 9-7 overall record and a 4-6 mark inside conference play. The Lady Flames are 1-0 on the season after an opening win over Cumberland while Monday's contest against the Mocs will be labeled as an exhibition contest and not count towards the team's overall record.

Chattanooga will gear up for another batch of consecutive matches with the first coming next Saturday (January 25) and the latter on Sunday (January 26), both held in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
