CHATTANOOGA (January 24, 2025) --- On a quick turnaround, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team will look to bounce back from Thursday's tough defeat at Southern Conference rival ETSU on Saturday afternoon inside Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tenn. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.

Chattanooga (12-8, 4-3 SoCon) dropped an emotional and hard-fought 73-69 contest to league-leading Samford inside McKenzie Arena just hours ago. The Mocs built a 16-point lead (42-26) late in the first half before surrendering a second-half comeback effort from the Bulldogs.

ETSU (12-8, 5-2 SoCon) is winners of four of its last five including a 65-60 win at Samford last Saturday, snapping the Bulldogs' 28-game home winning streak which was the second longest in NCAA DI at the time. It's no secret what happened the last time UTC and ETSU met as the Bucs erased a 20-point deficit with 14 minutes left to eliminate the Mocs in the semifinal round of the SoCon Tournament.

HC DAN EARL'S POSTGAME THOUGHTS AFTER SAMFORD
"Credit to Samford, we all knew they weren't going to go away. We got off to a good start in the first half, I think we did a little bit of us missing shots allowing it to affect our defense. It took a toll on our energy levels. We have to be better at that. When you go 0-for-9 from three, and miss six free throws, that's not ideal. We can't do those things. I just don't think we were very sharp in the second half."
