Men’s Basketball Hosts SEMO on Saturday in Fifth Annual Teddy Bear Toss Game

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball team hosts its fifth edition of the “Teddy Bear Toss” holiday event on Saturday as the Redhawks visit town.

CHATTANOOGA (December 5, 2025) --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team continues its homestand with a non-conference tilt against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday afternoon inside McKenzie Arena. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. (ET) on ESPN+/Nexstar affiliates (WFLI-TV).
 
The game will mark the fifth edition of the "Teddy Bear Toss" holiday initiative which encourages fans to bring a new stuffed animal or toy to toss during a special halftime event. All stuffed animals and toys collected will be donated locally to the Children's Hospital at Erlanger to help spread the holiday spirit.

- Chattanooga (4-4) saw its three-game win streak snapped with a 70-64 loss at home to Tennessee State in Sunday's Coke Zero Sugar Classic finale... first home loss in 311 days (January 23 - L, 69-73 vs. SAM)... snapped nine-game home win streak (was 10th longest active in DI - by number).
 
QUICK SEMO SCOUT
- SEMO (3-6) rolled past non-DI Saint Mary of the Woods, 88-57, on Tuesday night at home to snap a short two-game skid… 29th toughest schedule in NCAA DI to date... nine opponents are 39-18 (.684) this season... opened at Saint Louis (L, 67-92) on November 3 & at Missouri (L, 84-89) on November 7... played at Iowa (L, 70-99) on November 18.

- Junior transfer guard Jordan Frison notched his 1,000th career point against Tennessee State... Frison transferred to UTC ahead of the season... two standout years at Pitt St. (NCAA DII)... scored 911 points and was named the MIAA Player of the Year in 2024-2025.

- Mocs rank 14th in NCAA DI this season in 3FGA per game (32.3)... 21+ attempts in all eight games... 107 attempts over the past three games (35.7)... ranks 21st in 3FGM per game (11.1)... 150th in 3PT% (34.5).
 
WHERE'S THE DRAMA?                                                                                
- Only one of Chattanooga's eight games this season have been decided by single digits (L, 64-70 vs. Tennessee State, 11/30)... five games decided by 16+... four by 21+... the Mocs played 22 single-digit games last season with five OT games... last was 85-84 OT win over UC Irvine in NIT title.
