Women’s Tennis Hosts Alabama A&M on Friday, Presbyterian on Sunday

The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team hosts a pair of home matches this weekend.

CHATTANOOGA (February 13, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team will gear up for two more home matches with a Friday contest against Alabama A&M and a Sunday tilt against Presbyterian.
 
The weekend action will kick off with Friday's match against Alabama A&M at 3 p.m., and Sunday's contest against Presbyterian will begin at 9 a.m. Friday's match against Alabama A&M will be played at the UTC Tennis Center on Campus, weather permitting. Saturday's match will be held at the Strang-Voges Tennis Center on the campus of the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Scouting Chattanooga
Chattanooga is coming into the weekend after cruising to a decisive 7-0 win over non-conference opponent Eastern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. The Mocs quickly won the doubles point and four of the six singles won in straight sets. Zara Burns put up a 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 super tiebreak win, and Rozalie Dohnalova battled through a full third set to complete the sweep by winning 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

Scouting Alabama A&M
Alabama A&M is 0-2 after dropping Saturday's match to Jacksonville State 7-0. They went 7-15 overall in 2024 and posted a 4-5 record in Southwestern Athletic Conference play. The Mocs have won all four previous meetings with the Bulldogs, with the last being a 6-1 victory on March 24, 2024.
Scouting Presbyterian
Presbyterian is coming into the weekend off two 6-1 losses to Coastal Carolina and Western Carolina. In 2024, the Blue Hose went 9-12 overall and 1-4 in their conference. They're currently 2-7 in 2025 and are on a three-match losing streak. Chattanooga fell to Presbyterian 5-2 in their last meeting on March 29, 2024.
