CHATTANOOGA (March 27, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team will return to the courts for two more Southern Conference matchups when it hosts UNCG for a Friday tilt before facing Western Carolina on the road Sunday.
Friday's home action against UNCG is slated for a 2 p.m. start and will be held at the UTC Tennis Center on campus in Chattanooga, Tenn., weather permitting. The match at Western Carolina on Sunday will begin at 3 p.m. in Cullowhee, N.C. at the Catamount Athletic Complex. Friday's match will have live video/results available at the links below. Scouting Chattanooga
Chattanooga fell to Wofford in a tough 7-0 shutout on the road last Saturday (March 22), which brings the Mocs to 0-2 in SoCon play after they opened their league slate with a 4-3 loss to Mercer on March 16. Tuesday was a different story, as the Mocs swept St. Thomas (MN) 7-0 in their non-conference finale.
Scouting UNCG
UNCG enters Friday's matchup 3-11 overall on the season and 0-3 in SoCon matchups. The Spartans will be looking to snap a two-match skid after falling 5-2 to Mercer and 4-3 to Samford. They have dropped four of their last five, dating back to when UNCG opened SoCon play on February 27 with a 7-0 loss to Furman. The Mocs came out on top 6-1 in their last meeting on March 2, 2024.
Scouting Western Carolina
Western Carolina is coming into the weekend on a five-match win streak, including its most recent 6-1 win over SoCon member Samford last Sunday (March 23). The Catamounts have played to an 11-7 overall record and are 1-1 in SoCon play after dropping a 5-2 decision to Furman back on February 25. They will face UNCG on Saturday before hosting Chattanooga Sunday. The Mocs fell 4-3 in their last meeting with the Catamounts back on April 7, 2024.
