First Look: The Chattanooga Mocs are 11th after 18 holes of the Western Intercollegiate. The Mocs shot 363 to sit five strokes behind Oregon in 10th and four clear of host San Jose State and Hawaii in a tie for 12th at Pasatiempo Golf Club.
 
Braedon Wear was the low man with level-par 70. Garrett Engle was next at 72 with Camden Braidech and Carson Johnson both adding 73s. Ethan Whitaker closed the counting scores with 75, one ahead of Dalton Chuba.
 
No 18 San Diego State is the leader at 12 under, seven ahead of Stanford and No. 21 Arizona. Filip Jakubcik from Arizona and Taiga Kobayashi with Nihon University from Japan are tied for first with 65s.

What to Know

• Johnson got his first collegiate ace today on the par 3 5th. He played a 7 iron from 205 yards out. The last ace was Ethan Whitaker at February's Bentwater Intercollegiate.
• The Mocs made the turn at 1 over and was 6 over through 15. Played the finishing holes at 7 over.
• Wear's 70 is his 42nd career par or better card, 12th of the season. That's third for 9th in program history with Bryce Ledford '07 and Chris Robb '14.
