CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Chattanooga's Kailey Snell and Peja Goold swept the Tennessee Sports Writers Association weekly softball awards, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
Snell led the Mocs at the plate, hitting .571 with a double and three RBI while scoring twice. The Shelbyville, Tenn., native went 3-for-3 with two RBI on a single in the second and a double in the fifth inning against Jacksonville State. She also had a 4-for-4 day against Western Carolina with two RBI in the series opener before adding another hit and RBI in the finale Saturday.
 
Snell is ranked 14^th in the NCAA and second in the SoCon with 0.27 sac bunts per game. She is also 62^nd toughest to strikeout in the NCAA, averaging one per 22.8 innings.
 
Goold made two starts in three appearances last week, collecting 20 strikeouts with six walks to go with a 2.39 ERA. The Stockton, Calif., native earned her Southern Conference-leading 14th win and second save of the campaign. Against the Gamecocks, she entered the game with two down in the sixth, then worked through the seventh to earn her save. In the middle game against the Catamounts, she earned her 14th win, then struck out 12 in the finale in her 13th complete outing this year.
 
Goold ranks 11^th in the NCAA for complete games, 27^th for ERA, 15^th for hits allowed/seven innings, seventh for shutouts, 14^th for strikeouts and 26^th for victories.
 
Chattanooga hits the road this weekend for a three-game Southern Conference series at Furman beginning with a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in Greenville, S.C.
