  • Wright is tied with his former head coach Buddy Green (1994-99) in total games as Mocs head coach with 66. The duo is 6th, two behind Rodney Allison (68, 2003-08). Saturday is slated to be game #67 for the not so old ball coach.
  • Third of four straight non-conference games. Last time opening with all non-conference slate before SoCon Saturdays? 2021. Opened at home with #20 Austin Peay before hitting the road at North Alabama and Kentucky.
  • The offensive front allowed one or fewer sacks 44 times in the 66 games of the Wright Era.
  • Defensive front recorded multiple sacks in 40 of Wright's 66 games to date.

  • Coach Mike Jasper is a native of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., (suburban Nashville) and played collegiately at Bethel in McKenzie, Tenn.  The former DT was a 7th round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills (2011) and was head coach at his alma mater for six seasons (2019-24) going 44-20 with NAIA Playoff berths in 2022 and '23.
  • UTC DB Travarius Flood redshirted for Jasper in 2024 at Bethel.

Quotable
Coach Rusty Wright on coming home to Finley: "We're looking forward to playing at home Saturday. Seems like it's been awhile. I know our guys are excited. We just have to give ourselves a chance to play better."

Senior QB Camden Orth on why he chose Chattanooga: "It was the transparency with Coach (Joe) Pizzo. Just in what he was looking for and how he runs his offense. Just the transparency with him and Coach Wright."

Senior CB Jeremiah Batiste on turning the page after Saturday: "It's just getting back to the drawing board and take care of our deficiencies. Really harp on the things we see on film that are keeping us from being the team we know we can be."
