Tough Home Weekend in Chattanooga Classic
Chattanooga suffered a trio of defeats in its annual Chattanooga Classic Tournament held last weekend inside McKenzie Arena, where volleyball was played for the first time in the famed venue's near 45-year history. The Mocs dropped contests to Ohio (L, 1-3), Alabama (L, 0-3) and Jacksonville State (L, 0-3) and fell to 2-4 overall on the young season.
Attendance Record Set in the Roundhouse
Chattanooga set a new home program attendance record (2,165) during September 5's contest against Alabama inside McKenzie Arena. Playing in the historic Roundhouse for the first time ever since its construction in 1982, the Mocs bested its previous home attendance record of 1,532 which was set on the same day (Sept. 5) 12 years ago against Tennessee inside Maclellan Gymnasium.
First Weekend Success
Chattanooga has had great success in its past three season-opening weekends, spanning the 2023, 2024 & 2025 campaigns. The Mocs have played to an 8-2 record in its past three opening weekends, going 3-0 at the Georgia State Invitational in 2023, 3-1 at the Betty Austin Invitational (Alabama A&M) in 2024, and 2-1 at the UCF event to open the 2025 campaign two weekends ago.
