CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - That time has come again for Chattanooga Volleyball as the Mocs are set to host Georgia College & State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. for an exhibition in Maclellan Gym. It marks the first chance for UTC to test itself against another team and offers fans a sneak peak for what is to come this fall.Â
It'll be the first-ever meeting between the two schools and the match is one of three preseason dates Chattanooga has on the calendar. The other two are the Blue-Gold Scrimmage on August 18 and at MTSU on August 22. The Mocs are coming off a 16-13 season where they went 10-6 in league play to finish tied third in the SoCon. Wednesday starts the fifth year for Head Coach
Julie Torbett Thomas and she returns 12 players from last season with five newcomers joining the 2026 roster. Use this

Georgia College & State is a Division-II program that plays in the Peach Belt Conference. Located in Milledgeville, Georgia, GCSU is coming off a 16-16 season last year.Â
Admission is free for Wednesday's scrimmage and is free for all Chattanooga home matches this season. Concession items will be available to purchase. Live stats and a live stream will not be available for the scrimmage.
Chattanooga begins the regular season on Aug. 28 as it hosts the annual Chattanooga Classic. The Mocs take on Tennessee State, Valparaiso, and UAB across two days in Maclellan. For more information on the Chattanooga Classic click this link.Â
