It's the fourth Friday in football season. The Chattanooga Mocs are headed west to the Lone Star State to match up with third-ranked Tarleton State. Here is a breakdown of all you need to be "Gameday Ready".

Going Home
The Mocs have one Texas native on the roster. WR Erik Bussman almost gets a trip home. He's from Southlake which is roughly 100 miles from Tarleton Memorial Stadium. The last native Texan on the roster prior to Bussman? CaMiron Smith (2018-22). The corner was nearly a 5-year starter from Cedar Hill. He played 48 games with 22 passes defensed (5 INT/19 PBU). He was a 2-time CoSIDA Academic All-District and FCS Academic All-Star selection.
 
Record Setters
Record set in 2025…

• 8.1 yards per carry (55-455) vs. Stetson. Bests 7.81 (47-367) in the Nov. 3, 2012 win over Western Carolina.
• The 59-yard punt return TD by AJ Little and 91-yard kick return TD by Markell Quick were the first combination of punt and kick return TDs in same game on record for the program. The last time with two returns for scores in the same was both off kickoffs by Jerry Ellison against ETSU in 1992 (92 & 94 yards).
• 63-point margin of victory over Stetson is the highest total against a DI program. It broke the 58-point win over Appalachian State (72-14) in 1978.

 
In the Red
The Mocs are tied for the NCAA DI lead in red zone offense scoring on 100 percent of their incursions inside the opponent's 20. On the flip side, Tarleton leads the FCS allowing scores on just 44.4 percent of opponent entries into the red zone. That includes just one touchdown and 16 total points.

• 38-117 all-time vs. FCS ranked opponents, 13-76 on the road. 4-4 at FCS ranked opponents under Coach Rusty Wright.
• Last top 3 opponent? No. 2 Furman on Nov. 4, 2023. It was a narrow 17-14 loss to the Paladins.
• Last win over a top 3 opponent? Oct. 2, 1993. 33-31 over No. 1 Marshall when our favorite head coach was our favorite tight end.
• (Bonus note) Last time beating a top 3 opponent on the road? Saturday would be the first.
