Details
The is the last regular season non-conference matchup between the two programs. Tennessee Tech moves to the Southern Conference next season.

Haven't We Done This Before
The last time the Mocs opened the season in back-to-back games with Memphis and Tennessee Tech was 2006. That season started with a 31-7 win over Tech on August 31 before a 33-14 loss at the Tigers (9/9).

And You Are
This is the 41st meeting between the Mocs and Golden Eagles. That makes them the 7th most frequent opponent: 58-The Citadel, 55-Furman, 50-Western Carolina, 49-Samford, 47-ETSU, 42-Jacksonville State, TTU.

Despite that total, it's mostly a historical rivalry. There are just seven meetings in the 21st century.

Three Notes to Know
  • QB Camden Orth is 197 yards shy of 3,000 for his career.
  • RB Ryan Ingram's next rushing TD is the 20th of his career.
  • The NFL season starts this weekend with four Mocs alumni on NFL squads: OL McClendon Curtis '22 (N.Y. Giants), OL Corey Levin '16 (Tennessee), DB Reuben Lowery III '24 (Baltimore) & OL Cole Strange '21 (Cleveland).
