SETTING THE SCENE
- The Chattanooga Mocs dropped a 45-17 decision at No. 17 Tennessee Tech Saturday afternoon in Tucker Stadium…the Mocs are now 0-2, while the Golden Eagles move to 2-0.
- Chattanooga entered the contest receiving votes in both the AFCA FCS Coaches and Stats Perform polls…TTU was No. 17 in the Stats Perform poll and ranked 20th on the coaches' ledger.
- Last time starting the season 0-2? Last year. Losses at Tennessee and Georgia State were part of a 7-win season…the Mocs have won seven or more in each of the last three campaigns, just the fifth time in school history with such a streak.
- 9-3 in last 12 FCS road games…3-2 in most recent road matchups with ranked FCS opposition.
- Last matchup with an OVC opponent? 38-20 win at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 10, 2022.
- 42-19-2 all-time against the current membership of the OVC/Big South: Charleston Southern (1-0), Eastern Illinois (2-0), Gardner-Webb (2-2), Tennessee State (3-4-2), TTU (30-11) & UT Martin (4-2).
- This is the last regular season non-conference meeting between the two schools…Tennessee Tech joins the Southern Conference next season.
