Sept. 6, 2025 – at Tennessee Tech – Tucker Stadium
 
SETTING THE SCENE
- The Chattanooga Mocs dropped a 45-17 decision at No. 17 Tennessee Tech Saturday afternoon in Tucker Stadium…the Mocs are now 0-2, while the Golden Eagles move to 2-0.
- Chattanooga entered the contest receiving votes in both the AFCA FCS Coaches and Stats Perform polls…TTU was No. 17 in the Stats Perform poll and ranked 20th on the coaches' ledger.
- Last time starting the season 0-2? Last year. Losses at Tennessee and Georgia State were part of a 7-win season…the Mocs have won seven or more in each of the last three campaigns, just the fifth time in school history with such a streak.
- 9-3 in last 12 FCS road games…3-2 in most recent road matchups with ranked FCS opposition.
- Last matchup with an OVC opponent? 38-20 win at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 10, 2022.
- 42-19-2 all-time against the current membership of the OVC/Big South: Charleston Southern (1-0), Eastern Illinois (2-0), Gardner-Webb (2-2), Tennessee State (3-4-2), TTU (30-11) & UT Martin (4-2).
- This is the last regular season non-conference meeting between the two schools…Tennessee Tech joins the Southern Conference next season.
- Game captains: QB Camden Orth & DE Marquise Freeman…wins the toss and deferred...1-1 when winning the toss.

- Allowed 513 yards of total offense…292 passing and 221 rushing…last time giving up 500 yards of offense was last November 2nd at Western Carolina (548).
- Both teams converted 40 percent of their third downs with Chattanooga going eight for 20 and TTU four of 10…the Golden Eagles were one for their last six…Mocs converted seven of last 12.
- Both teams had two turnovers with a fumble and interception each…Tech held a 14-3 advantage in points off turnovers.
 
PLAYER NOTES
- DB KJ Sejour, DB Khari Gee and TE Nathanial Eberly-Rodriguez made their first career starts today.
- QB Camden Orth had 249 passing yards on 22 of 45 passing with a touchdown and interception…topped 3,000 career passing yards (3,052).
- RB Ryan Ingram's fourth quarter 1-yard run was his 20th career rushing TD.
- WR Josh Williams had career highs of six catches and 60 yards.
- WR Markell Quick had a team-high 94 receiving yards on five catches…33-yard TD came in third quarter on a catch-and-run bubble screen.
- P Heath Jehu had two of his seven punts fair caught inside the 20…his high-lofted punt in the first quarter forced a fumbled catch leading to Jaden Nelson's recovery.
- Nelson's fumble recovery is the true freshman's first career takeaway.
- LB Amanuel Dickson's team-best six tackles also were a team high.
- DB Khari Gee made his first career interception…he added five stops for the second week in a row.
