- All-region as a junior and senior…team Defensive Player of the Year both years.
- 90 tackles as a junior and senior with 3.0 for loss…collected four interceptions.
- Also played basketball.

- Parents are Sheron Peng and Ronald Nelson…an older brother, Kaleb.
- Mechanical Engineering is his study course of interest.

Coach Rusty Wright on Nelson:
"South Georgia guy. Plays at a good high school down in Tift County. Does a really good job of playing back there in a secondary for them. Has really good ball skills, good tackler. You know, just I think he's got an opportunity to grow and be a be a really good one for us for a long time."
