Men’s Basketball Set for Saturday Matchup Against Western Carolina

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball team welcomes the Catamounts to the Roundhouse for a key league matchup as tournament seeding for Asheville nears.

CHATTANOOGA (February 13, 2026) --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team welcomes Western Carolina to McKenzie Arena for a key Saturday afternoon Southern Conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. (ET) on ESPN+ and will follow the women's 2 p.m. (ET) contest against ETSU.

Tickets can be purchased HERE in advance or by calling/visiting the McKenzie Arena Box Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627) during business hours of M-F, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (ET). Saturday's contest against Western Carolina will be the second leg of a doubleheader with the women's program tipping against ETSU at 2 p.m. (ET).

Mocs Fall at Rival ETSU on Wednesday Night
• Chattanooga (10-16, 4-9 SoCon) dropped a well-played battle at rival ETSU, 73-61, on Wednesday night inside Freedom Hall in Johnson City... game was nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
• The loss marked the first for Chattanooga inside its rival home of Freedom Hall since 2020... UTC had won five-straight games in Johnson City... Dan Earl & staff were 3-0 at ETSU during UTC tenure before the defeat.
Chattanooga trailed by just three, 59-56, when the clock showed 5:00 left in the second half... however, ETSU led for 32:37/40:00 in the contest.
 
Scouting the Catamounts
• Western Carolina (9-15, 5-8 SoCon) is coming off an 87-49 home rout over The Citadel on Wednesday night which snapped a three-game skid... has claimed wins in SoCon play over ETSU (2x), Furman and VMI before the recent win over the Bulldogs.
• Western Carolina has struggled on the road this season while playing to a 2-12 record away from home... 7-3 inside its home arena... UTC has won four of its last five over the Catamounts inside the Roundhouse... WCU nearly pulled off the late season upset last year... UTC squeaked out the 91-86 victory to up its win streak to eight.
• Western Carolina and Chattanooga have had their fair share of high-scoring affairs over the recent years... the winning team has scored 82 or more points in seven-straight meetings between the two teams (UTC is 5-2 over that stretch)... four games with the winner scoring 90+ including the last two... UTC earned a 90-82 win earlier this season in Cullowhee.
