SPARTANBURG, S.C. (February 24, 2026) – Following a dynamic weekend at the No. 1 slot, Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis junior
Jakub Jupa has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week as the league office announced the honors Tuesday afternoon.
Jupa earns the weekly conference award for the second time in his career and the first since his freshman season on March 26, 2024. The selection in 2024 also marked the last time a Moc earned the weekly conference honor.
Jupa finished the weekend with a combined 3-1 record at No. 1 singles and doubles in two-match split for Chattanooga following a 4-3 win over Tennessee Tech on Friday and a 4-1 defeat to EKU on Saturday.
Jupa claimed straight-set wins in both singles matches on the weekend beginning with a 6-4, 6-2 win over TTU's Oliver Dao and ending on a 6-0, 6-2 dominant defeat of EKU's Nuno Pinheiro. In doubles alongside teammate
Cortland Grove, the tandem started the weekend with a 6-3 win over TTU's No. 1 pairing before a tight 6-4 defeat to EKU's top tandem.
For the season, Jupa and Grove won three of its last four doubles matchups with all duals coming on court No. 1. Jupa has posted victories in three of his last five singles matches, also all coming the No. 1 position.
