CHATTANOOGA (February 7, 2026) – Coming off a key victory on Thursday night, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team failed to capitalize on its momentum and fell 79-71 to The Citadel during important Southern Conference action on Saturday afternoon inside McKenzie Arena.
 
Following the defeat, Chattanooga falls to 10-15 overall this season and now sits at 4-8 in SoCon play. The Citadel improved to 9-16 overall and an even 6-6 in the league after the win, moving two games ahead of UTC in the standings and earning its first win in the Roundhouse since February 22, 2012.

• The Citadel forced an early Chattanooga timeout after opening an 11-4 lead in the first four minutes of action.
• Jordan Frison connected on a spinning layup to put UTC ahead, 14-13 (10:59), capping off a quick 10-2 scoring run.
• The Bulldogs jumped back ahead 21-17 at the 6:58 mark before seven-straight Chattanooga points allowed for a 24-21 lead and forced a timeout.
• The Citadel scored 14 points over the final four minutes of the half as a Braxton Williams corner three at the buzzer sent the visitors into the break with a 37-32 halftime lead.

• Chattanooga couldn't pull itself ahead down the stretch as The Citadel made the necessary winning plays to pull out the 78-71 victory.
