CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga track and field program posted a strong performance on opening weekend of the outdoor season highlighted by an individual victory by
Ryleigh Simmons in the 100 meter and a second place finish for
Halle Carden in the high jump.

Simmons covered the sprint distance in a time of 12.02, 0.17 seconds ahead of the next finisher.
Halle Carden took second in the women's high jump, hitting a mark of 1.65 meters, a personal best for the freshman in the outdoor season.

Bella King was the Mocs top finisher in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:52.52.
Maya McCloskey took 10
th (4:54.57) and
Aubrey Park finished the middle distance race with a time of 4:59.91.
Taylor Crawford and
Scarlett Nash each recorded personal bests in the 1500 while freshman
Kolbee Webb had a personal record in the 400 meter dash.

Three of the men's cross country team got onto the track this weekend led by
Ian Etheridge with a 10
th place finish in the 5000 meter race with a time of 15:15.58.
