LILBURN, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) released its Top 25 rankings for Team GPA on Tuesday, and the 2025-26 Chattanooga Women's Basketball team was ranked No. 5 across all Division I programs. As a result, the Mocs earned the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll distinction from the WBCA.

The Mocs finished the school year with a 3.807 GPA, which was its best academic performance in team history.  

"Our main goal of our program is to always represent ourselves and this University at the highest standard. I am so incredibly proud of this team for excelling on and off the court." said Head Coach Deandra Schirmer. 

In the fall, UTC had seven players earn a perfect 4.0 GPA, while having six 4.0 GPA performances in the spring. Additionally, all 11 squad members made the Dean's List this spring. In both semesters, all 11 players were named to the A.D. Honor Roll. Lastly, the Mocs had six players earn Academic All-SoCon distinction and four players named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators. 

The Mocs' GPA was the highest among all schools in the south. Additionally, Chattanooga was the lone school from the SoCon to make it in the Top 25. 

"During this time we are able to celebrate their accomplishments in the classroom but in coming years we will be celebrating the impact they have in their communities and how successful they have become in their careers." Schirmer said.
