CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Mocs fans can start marking their winter calendars as Chattanooga Women's Basketball has released its non-conference slate for the 2026-27 season. 

The 15-game schedule is highlighted by six home games, two battles with SEC schools, and a Holiday Classic in Atlanta. 

In the opening week of the season, Chattanooga plays three games, starting off on Monday, Nov. 2 against Division II, UVA Wise, in the Roundhouse. Two days later on Nov. 4, the Mocs visit Western Kentucky for their first road game of the year. The two teams played a wild game in McKenzie Arena a year ago that saw UTC win 59-58 on a last-second shot. 

On Sunday, Nov. 8 is Chattanooga's marquee home non-conference game against Florida. It's the first time an SEC team has come to the Scenic City since Dec. 3, 2023 when the Mocs defeated No. 21 Mississippi State, 59-53. The Gators took down UTC in Gainesville a year ago, but are now under a new regime, as Tammi Reiss was named Head Coach in March. She led Rhode Island to the A-10 Championship in the 2025-26 season. 

"The most notable games might be the two SEC games with us hosting the University of Florida here in the Roundhouse," said Head Coach Deandra Schirmer. "It's our goal to bring high-caliber opponents to our arena for the best fan experience. We are really hoping we can pack the house that Sunday."

After a busy opening week, Chattanooga has four days off before traveling back to the Bluegrass state to take on Northern Kentucky. The Mocs defeated the Norse 64-62 in another exciting non-conference game in the Roundhouse last season. On Sunday, Nov. 15, Chattanooga returns to its home court to take on in-state foe, Lipscomb. Chattanooga went to Nashville and defeated the Bison 59-56 a year ago. 

Moving to Nov. 19, Chattanooga takes on another in-state school, facing off against Austin Peay on the road. The Mocs are looking to avenge a 54-68 loss to the Govs last season, who finished runner-up in the A-Sun Tournament. 

The Holiday Tournament Chattanooga is playing across Thanksgiving Week this season is at Georgia State in Atlanta. The Mocs are scheduled to play three games in three days starting on Monday, Nov. 23. UTC's opponents are not finalized at this time. 

"Playing a holiday tournament in Atlanta felt fitting since we have so many of our players from the Atlanta area," Schirmer said. "Their families will get to enjoy some games at Georgia State right before Thanksgiving."

After a 15-day absence from the Roundhouse, Chattanooga is back on its home court on Monday, November 30 against King (Tenn.). The Mocs have played the Division II program in each of the last three seasons at home, winning each game. 

As the non-conference season continues, Chattanooga travels to Charleston Southern on Saturday, December 5 as part of the new SoCon/Big South scheduling agreement. It'll be the first meeting since 1999 between the two programs.

Chattanooga has eight days off before visiting UAB on Sunday, December 13. UTC is looking to end a four-game losing skid to the Blazers that includes a home loss last year. 

The Mocs' home leg of the SoCon/Big South scheduling agreement is on Wednesday, December 16 against Radford. The Highlanders finished second in the Big South last season and the matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. 

Chattanooga's final home non-conference game is set for Friday, December 18 against Tennessee State. It marks UTC's third in-state foe on the non-conference schedule. Chattanooga won 81-51 on the road in Nashville against the Tigers last season.

On Sunday, December 20, Chattanooga ends non-conference play on the road at Alabama for its second game against an SEC opponent. The Mocs last played the Crimson Tide in 2022, falling 61-52 in Tuscaloosa. Alabama went 24-11 and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament last season. Just like Florida, Alabama has a new Head Coach this season, as it hired Pauline Love, who was previously the Associate Head Coach at Oklahoma. 

In total, the Mocs are scheduled to play against 10 different leagues, with the potential for that number to be even higher after their opponents across Thanksgiving week are revealed. 

"We have another tough non-conference schedule this year. We have made an effort to schedule games that we know will prepare us best for the conference season," Schirmer said. 

Game times and Chattanooga's SoCon schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Season Tickets for the 2026-27 Women's Basketball season are available to purchase now while Mini Packs and Single Game tickets will be released this fall.
