Prior to Chattanooga
- Played for Bobby Cagle at McMinn County High School in nearby Athens…helped lead the team to a 33-14 record in his four seasons…teammate of 2024 Mocs signee Landon Feggins.
- 2nd team All-State as a senior…first team all-region as a junior and senior.
- Graduated with a 3.97 GPA with multiple academic honors including National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Award.
- Also threw shot put and discus his junior year.
 
Personal
- Son of Tammy and Phillip Patton…older brother, Butch, plays football DII Tusculum in Greeneville, Tenn.
- Mom played softball at Carson-Newman.
- Majoring in Finance.
