- Played for Damon Floyd at Bradley Central High School in nearby Cleveland…helped lead the team to a 37-12 record in his four seasons.
- All-State as a senior…Iron Man Lineman of the Year in the region…Times Free Press Best of Preps team…all-district and all-region in junior and senior seasons.
- Participated in the Tennessee East vs. West All-Star game.
- Also lettered four years in baseball and one in basketball…all-district baseball over his junior and senior seasons.
