Rhonda Watts joined the Athletics Performance department in August 2015. She is charged with the athletic development of the women’s basketball, volleyball, women’s tennis and softball programs.
Her teams have captured five Southern Conference Championships. The women’s basketball team won regular season (2016, 2017) and tournament (2016, 2017) crowns, while volleyball earned the regular season title in 2015. Two of her Mocs were named SoCon Women’s Basketball Defensive Players of the Year in Alicia Payne (2016) and Jasmine Joyner (2017).
Watts came to the Scenic City from Birmingham, Ala. She spent three years (2013-15) at UAB working with women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, and women’s golf. She aided the Blazers’ efforts in football, men’s basketball and softball.
Rhonda graduated from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa, earning a degree in Exercise Physiology. She was a three-year basketball letter winner for the Red Flash.
She is certified by Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) and holds professional certifications in CPR and First Aid.
