CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Senior forward Alex Anderson (Stone Mountain, Ga.) poured in a season-high 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting to lead Chattanooga (7-3, 1-0) to a 61-51 victory over Furman (3-6, 0-2) Thursday evening in Southern Conference women's basketball action at The McKenzie Arena.
After recovering from an 11-point deficit in the first half to take a narrow 31-29 lead at the break, Chattanooga stepped up its play in the second half, opening with a 9-2 run and extending to a 40-31 advantage with 17:05 to play. The Paladins answered back with an 8-1 run of their own to close the gap to 41-39 at the 13:44 mark.
