CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Lady Mocs edged Tennessee Tech 4-3 Wednesday afternoon at the Champions Club and the men's team fell 7-0 to the Golden Eagles in non conference action.

 

The Lady Mocs' Jennemieke van der Veek and Charlotte Bossy won the No. 1 doubles match 8-0. No. 3 partners Shaina Singh and Annie Green won their match 8-6 over Diana Woodcock and Alena Krutkina with Singh serving out the match at 7-6 to clinch the doubles point. That would prove to be the difference in the match for UTC.

 

Van der Veek posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 over Barnhill while Bossy nabbed a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4 over Krutkina. Annie Green clinched the win for Chattanooga who improves to 3-8 on the year and get their first SoCon win, 1-2.

 

In the men's match, the Mocs were swept by Tennessee Tech 7-0. Seniors Peter Sauska and Pavel Vostrikov defeated Josh Girling and Dean O'Brien 9-8 (7-4) for the Mocs lone win.

 

Rick van de Bovenkamp stretched his match to three sets, but fell to Oscar Pachon at No. 5 by a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-0.
