University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore women's tennis student-athlete Kayla Jones remained undefeated in fall action, claiming the Flight 1 singles title at the Georgia State Southern Shootout today. The Lady Mocs posted three singles wins on the final day of competition in Atlanta, Ga.
Jones, a native of Memphis, Tenn., improved to 6-0 on the year with her win today. She defeated Louisiana-Monroe's Sophie Rufyikiri (6-3, 6-1) to claim her second title of the fall.
Fellow sophomore's Katie Polk (Woodstock, Ga.) and Jovana Pecovski (Apatin, Serbia) also won in singles action today. Polk defeated ULM's Justyna Krol (6-1, 6-3) at No. 4, while Pecovski scored her win over Emory's Catherine Harris at No. 6.
Next up for the Lady Mocs is the 2013 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional. Action takes place in Memphis, Tenn., on Oct. 18-22.
