Hosting the National Champion • This will be the second time Chattanooga has hosted the reigning National Championship team. The Mocs nearly pulled off an upset of the Lady Vols at the start of the 2008-09 season. UTC  led the game by eight points, 61-53 with 6:11 to play in the game. UTK outscored Chattanooga 13-2 over the remainder of the game to hold on for the win.

Joyner Leads the Nation • Junior
Jasmine Joyner has 33 blocked shots this season, averaging 4.7 per game, and leads the NCAA. The Mocs are lead the Southern Conference and are 12th in the country with 6.6 per game as a team.
Joyner Matches School Record • Junior
Jasmine Joyner matched her McKenzie Arena record for blocked shots with seven to reach 221 for her career. That ties her with Alex Anderson (2003-08) for the Chattanooga record. Last year she broke the SoCon record for blocked shots in a season with 132 and set the school single game record with eight at Notre Dame. She moves into a tie with Anderson for sixth in the SoCon. The record is 339 set by Davidson's Sophia Aleksandravicius (2009-13).
Keiana Gilbert tabbed CSM SoCon Player of the Week • Sophomore
Keiana Gilbert was selected the College Sports Madness Southern Conference Player of the Week for her performance on the court. She dropped in 19 points in UTC's season opener against McNeese State and had six rebounds.
Joyner Records Trio of Double-Double • Junior
Jasmine Joyner recorded her 11th career double-double and third of the season with 31 points and 15 rebounds against UT Martin.
Career-Records Beyond the Arc • Three Mocs have career-highs from beyond the 3-point line this season. Centers

Anna Claire Noblit showed off her skills to spark a come-from-behind win for the Mocs with three against Arkansas State. Joyner, with eight on the  year, had three against Southern Miss while Chilton hit 3-of-4 against the Lady Vols.
TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Hands Off • Chattanooga is ranked third in the nation for fewest fouls per game with 11.1 per game. Iowa State leads the nation committing just 10.8 per game. Chattanooga was ranked first last year in the category.
Long-Range Bombers • The Mocs have made at least one 3-pointer in 505 consecutive games dating back to December 1999 - that's a 15-year span.
On the Comeback Trail • Chattanooga has trailed by double-digits twice this season. At Tennessee, the Mocs fell into a 23-point deficit against the Lady Vols and mounted a comeback that brought the Mocs to within two points (57-55) against the No. 4 ranked team. It was a different story against Arkansas State. The Mocs fell behind by 17 points to start the second half and came away with a 55-54 win over the Red Wolves.
Mocs 2-1 in Preseason WNIT • The Mocs went 2-1 in the Preseason WNIT for the second time. UTC opened the season with a win over McNeese State then fell at Indiana in the second round. In the consolation bracket, Chattanooga got the win over Southern Miss in overtime.
Mocs Get Overtime Win • The Mocs had to use another five minutes to get past Southern Mississippi in the consolation bracket of the Presason WNIT. It was the Mocs first OT game of the year, winning 53-48. UTC is 22-21 all-time in overtime.
Hot at Home • UTC has won all five home games this year to extend its home-court win streak to 17 games and have won 57 of its last 58 games in the Roundhouse. Those wins include #4 Tennessee (2014) and #7 Stanford (2014) and #20 Tennessee (2012).
Home Openers • When opening the season at home, the Mocs are 14-4 and have won each of the last five with a win over McNeese State at home this year. In all openers the Mocs are 32-10.
42 Seasons • UTC begins its 42nd season of play as a varsity sport and has had just five coaches in it's history. The Mocs are 798-418 over that time, averaging just over 22 wins per season.
Foster Fastest to 50 wins • Through 57 games,
Jim Foster earned his 50th win at the UTC helm. He reached the 50-win mark at UTC faster than any other in school history.
Foster in it for the Long Haul •
Jim Foster begins his third season season at the helm of the Mocs and is in his 38th season of coaching. Foster began his career at St. Joe's, moved on to Vanderbilt and had his latest stint at Ohio State. He starts the season as the 11th winningest coach in NCAA history (all levels) with 841 victories. He is just the 11th coach in NCAA history to reach 800 wins. He is also the ONLY coach to advance four different teams to the NCAA Tournament and have four different teams ranked in the AP Poll and Preseason Poll.
THE COMPETITION
Four Mocs Opponents Ranked Among the Best • With UConn headlining both preseason polls, the Mocs will face some stiff competition this season. The Huskies are ranked first in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Top 25. UTC will take on UConn for the first time in school history on Nov. 30 at home. The Mocs fell to #4 Tennessee in Knoxville by a 59-57 margin after falling behind by 23 points. Chattanooga will travel to South Florida in mid-December to face the Bulls who are 18th in the AP Poll. Also in the polls is Stanford. Chattanooga will travel west to take on the Cardinal on December 28. Stanford is ranked 13th.
Southern Conference Win Streak • The Mocs have lost just one game in three years against the Southern Conference. After falling to Elon on the road in overtime in January 2013, the Mocs have won a school and Southern Conference record 48 consecutive regular season league games.
Doubleheaders on the Slate • The Chattanooga men's and women's teams will take part in six doubleheaders. The first will be on the road at Furman on January 9. The next five will be at home with one more in January and the last four in February.
Road Tournament • The women will travel to Wilmington, N.C., to participate in the UNCW Christmas Classic. UTC will face East Carolina the first day and follow with a matchup against the host UNC Wilmington.
SoCon Tournament • The Southern Conference Tournament will be held in Asheville, N.C., March 5-8. All rounds will be played in the U.S. Cellular Center this year.

New Rules Highlight Start of Women's Season • This season will see new rules for women's basketball. The most obvious will be the move from two 20-minute halves to four 10-minute quarters. Another will be advancing the ball in the final minute of play. Once a basket or rebound is made, a team may call timeout before advancing the ball and  take possession at the 28-foot mark.Â
Mocs Picked to Win Fourth Straight Crown • The Southern Conference coaches and media picked UTC to the league title. The Mocs, winners of three straight, have won the regular season 19 times since 1984.
Joyner Named Preseason Favorite • Junior
Jasmine Joyner was selected the preseason favorite for Southern Conference Player of the Year by the league coaches. Joyner was named to the SoCon all-conference team last season and named the tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Mocs Ranked 25th in AP Preseason Poll • The Mocs earned their first-ever AP Top 25 preseason ranking this year. Chattanooga climbed as high as 17th last season. After receiving votes for six weeks, the remained in the poll for the final seven weeks.
UTC Second in Mid-Major Top 25 • College Insider ranks the Mocs at second in its preseason Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The Mocs ended last season at second and return five starters. Chattanooga received three first place votes for 720 points behind Florida Gulf Coast who received 22 first place votes for 735 points.
ESPNW Ranks Mocs in Preseason Top 10 • ESPNW reporters and contributer ranked the Mocs fourth in its preseason Mid-Major Top 10. UTC is behind Florida Gulf Coast, George Washington and Princeton.
Foster Gets Another First • Last season Chattanooga head coach
Jim Foster became the first coach in NCAA history to have four different teams ranked in the AP Top 25. The previous season he was the first to guide four different teams to the NCAA Tournament. This season he becomes the first coach in NCAA history to have four different teams ranked in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll. The Mocs are ranked 25th.
Mocs Make Fourth Appearance in Preseason WNIT • The Mocs opened the season with its fourth appearance in the preseason tournament. Chattanooga defeated McNeese State 68-53 to open the season and fell to Indiana in the second round, 54-43. UTC hosted UAB in the opening game in 2011 coming away with a 65-59 win. UTC went 2-1 in 2011 with wins over UAB and Indiana State and a loss to Baylor. Chattanooga fell 74-53 to the Sycamores in 2005 on Indiana State's home court and dropped a 69-52 decision at Louisiana Tech in 2000.
ON THE ROSTER
• Gilbert Returns to Lineup • Redshirt sophomore
Aryanna Gilbert suffered a season-ending knee injury last season after the Mocs' eighth game. After a long rehab and preseason workouts, she is back in the lineup and ready to play. She was able to redshirt last season and will have three years remaining.

Queen Alford to Make Chattanooga Debut • After sitting on the sidelines for an entire season, redshirt junior
Queen Alford will make her UTC debut this season. Alford was the Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year in 2013 and a two-time all-conference performer for the Dolphins. She led Jacksonville in scoring both seasons and was second in rebounding as well. In her freshman year, she had a team-best .450 3-point field goal percentage making 27-of-60.
Hosting the National Champion • Chattanooga has hosted the reigning National Champion twice. In 2008, following the Lady Vols capture of the crown the previous season, UTK came to the Roundhouse and nearly suffered an upset by the Scrappy Mocs. The story was much different this year when UTC hosted UConn who won each of the previous three national titles. Both teams posted season-lows for scoring.

Jasmine Joyner named CSM SoCon Player of the Week • Junior
Jasmine Joyner averaged 17 points and 8.7 rebounds the week of Nov. 23-29 to earn College Sports Madness Player of the Week honors for the SoCon. She scored a career-high 31 points against UTM Saturday, recording her third double-double of the year with 15 rebounds and added seven blocked shots to tie the UTC career record for rejections.
