The Mocs lead the series with Louisville 5-1. After winning five consecutive games between 1978-2003 against the Cardinals, Louisville defeated the Mocs in the last meeting in 2007. The Mocs improved to 3-2 with back-to-back wins over Lafayette and Bowling Green in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Challenge. Chattanooga opened the year with a win on the road at Rutgers before falling to ranked foes #19 Florida and #23 Indiana at home. UTC is averaging 65 points and 33.8 rebounds per game. UTC is shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 32 percent from the 3-point line. The Mocs average 10.8 turnovers per game and 11.8 assists per game for a 1.1 assist-turnover ratio.
Jasmine Joyner broke her own school record for blocked shots against Bowling Green and just missed the Mocs' first triple-double since 2000 with 12 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots. She leads the team in scoring (13.0), rebounding (9.2) and blocked shots (3.2). She also has a team-high nine steals to go along with seven assists.
Chelsey Shumpert is the only other player in double figures with 10.6 points per game. She has led the Mocs in scoring twice this season and is 6-of-22 from beyond the arc while making all 13 of her attempts this season from the free throw line.
Keiana Gilbert is averaging 9.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while
Queen Alford has 9.4 points per game and five 3-pointers. Freshman
Lakelyn Bouldin, who stepped into the starting lineup this weekend, is averaging 7.2 points an outing and is 6-16 from the 3-point line.
LOUISVILLE
The Cardinals are 5-0 on the year and ranked fifth in the Associated Press Top 25. With all five games topping the 70-point mark, Louisville is averaging 87.8 points per game, outscoring opponents by more than 30 ppg while outrebounding opponents 42.2-35.8. The Cards are shooting 49.3 percent from the field and are 35-100 from beyond the arc. They have an 11.4 advantage in turnovers while dishing out an average of 21.2 assists per game.
Asia Durr is one of three Louisville players in double figures with 22.2 points per game. She is shooting 52.6 percent from the field and has a scorching 24 3-pointers in 49 attempts. Mariya Moore is second on the team in scoring with 12.8 ppg and has a team-best 20 assists. Myisha Hines-Allen is averaging 10.6 points and a team-high 8.8 rebounds per game with 16 assists and nine steals.
